The Lahore High Court on Wednesday issued notice to Principal Secretary of President of Pakistan for arranging former's representation in the proceedings before the court in a petition against his dual office and use of Presidency for his party purposes.
The court also directed Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP), to file his reply about the maintainability of the petition till September 14 without prejudice to pleas taken before the court. The court passed these directions after a Deputy Attorney General stated that the AGP was to appear in these proceedings in response to a notice served upon him.
He said the AGP could not attend the instant proceedings on Wednesday and sought an adjournment account of being summoned by the Supreme Court of Pakistan at Quetta. Wasim Sajjad appeared before the court and stated that he had received instructions from the Federal government.
