Extortion of money: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa APOTOA urges government to take action against political administration
All Pakistan Oil Tanker Owners Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chapter demanded of the government to take action against the political administration, Khyber Agency for allegedly extortion of money at the behest of illegal tax.
Addressing at a news conference, here at Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, the APOTOA provincial president, Nasir Ali alleged that the security personnel on directives of political agent Khyber Agency had demanded Rs 6,000 per truck at Torkhum border, which was totally unjust and unfair with truck owners.
Expressing concern over turbulent situation in Kurram Agency, he said they had inflicted huge financial losses due to setting on fire their oil tankers in the escalating violence situation in the agency. He also criticised that the government had failed to address the issues facing by oil tankers.
He also demanded of the President Asif Ali Zardari to immediate replace the incumbent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor with an honest and committed person. He warned that if their demand was not fulfilled then they will compel to march federal capital and stage sit-in outside the Presidential House.
