All arrangements have been completed to celebrate the 47th Defence Day of Pakistan with national spirit and enthusiasm in the Khyber Pakthunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) on Thursday with a renewed pledge to make defence of the motherland invincible and thwart every conspiracy against its existence. People in the KP and Fata will mark the day with renewed pledge to work with security forces to defend the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country at all cost.
The day will dawn with special prayers in mosques, army units, navy centres and bases of air forces for the progress and prosperity of the country and eternal peace of the martyrs. Special ceremonies of hoisting National Flag would be held on all Formation Headquarters, Units and other installations of the armed forces. Quran Khwani would be held for those, who had laid down their lives for the defence of the country. Special Darbars would be held at Formation Headquarters and Units and other establishments where messages of the Services Chiefs would be read out to the troops and officers highlighting significance of the day.
The major function would held at the grave of Kargil Hero, Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider) in Swabi district where floral wreath would be laid on his grave while a contingent of the army will present salute on this occasion.
