DSP's manhandling: Supreme Court directs IGP Sindh to take action against police officers
Supreme Court of Pakistan Thursday directed Inspector General Police Sindh to take action against police officers involved in manhandling of their colleague, who challenged out-of-turn promotions. A three-member bench, comprising Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Amir Hani Muslim & Justice Muhammad Athar Saeed, also directed Additional IG Bashir Memon to complete his investigation by fixing responsibility of those involved in incident and submit his report within three days.
DSP Maqsood Ahmed was manhandled by policemen whose out-of-turn shoulder promotions were challenged by Maqsood after hearing of case at apex court's Karachi registry branch on September 03, 2012. On Thursday, Additional IG Bashir Memon submitted his initial investigation report, stating statements of officers were recorded, but no responsibility on anyone was fixed yet.
