In connection with the Defence Day of Pakistan, a guard mounting ceremony took place at the Mazar-e-Quaid in which a smartly turned out contingent of Cadets from PAF Academy Risalpur took over guard duties at the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation to commemorate his visit to the PAF Academy Risalpur 65 years ago.
A PAF press release on Thursday said that Air Vice Marshal, Rashid Kamal, Air Officer Commanding PAF Academy Risalpur, inspected guard of honour and laid a floral wreath and offered `Fateha' at the Mazar-e-Quaid.
The ceremony was keenly witnessed by common people including a large number of students from various schools and colleges who had gathered at the Mazar. The day started with special `Dua' and Quran Khawani for the Shaheeds. The auspicious day was observed with a renewed pledge and determination to make `Fazaia' even stronger and a potent force to face any challenge.
