Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Barrister Masood Kausar has said that nations earn honour and prestige by offering sacrifices and "we always will feel proud on our heroes who laid down their lives for better future of the motherland."
Addressing a well attended prestigious function which was arranged in honour of the children and family members of martyrs and IDPs at Governor's House, Peshawar on Defence Day, the Governor further said, "though the replacement of martyrs is impossible, yet we will be making sure that no effort is spared to resolve just problems of their near and dear ones".
The ceremony besides the family members of the martyrs was also attended by some of the provincial ministers, Corps Commander, Peshawar, Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani, Chief Secretary Ghulam Dastagir Akhtar, IG Frontier Corps Major General Ghayur Mehmood, Additional Chief Secretary Fata Tashfin Khan and other senior government officials.
Declamation contest, presentation of national songs, skits, tableaux and band march by students were the special features of the event. Besides, stall depicting creations of the women skills development centres of Fata were also displayed at the Governor's House. The Governor highly appreciated the performance, keen interest and spirit of the students and advised them to focus on their studies as well, adding the government was also doing its best to manage maximum opportunities of higher and quality education in maximum educational institutions across the country for the students hailing from Fata.
"All our efforts are meant for making best possible opportunities available to the youth from Fata and it is hoped that they would prove themselves good human being, Muslim and citizen," he added.
The Government, the Governor said, was also contemplating upon introducing special marriage packages for the children of martyrs, health cards and priority based initiatives for ensuring resolution of the just problems of the martyrs. A cell, he added, had already been established at the secretariat level in this respect.
While expressing his solidarity with internally dislocated persons from Fata, the Governor said, indeed the camp life did not bear any match with that of at the normal home. "However it is his utmost efforts to ease the situation at the camps to the maximum extent and simultaneously also make their early return possible," he added. Meanwhile, the Governor also went round the stalls; took keen interest in the items displayed and appreciated the working of the respective organisations.
