Attack on DSP's car kills two policemen in Quetta
Two policemen were martyred when the convoy of a police officer came under attack on Wednesday morning at Quetta's Sumungli Road.
According to local media reports, the car belonged to Deputy Superintendent of Police Hameedullah Dasti who remains unharmed. The two officers who accompanied him were killed by an unidentified assailant, who opened fire at the convoy.
The police and other law enforcement agencies reached the site, while investigation into the incident is under way.
Terming the attack a brutal act of terrorism, Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo has strongly condemned the attack and has directed the police to apprehend the terrorists.
Another attack earlier in February had also killed four security officials near Quetta’s Sariab road when unidentified assailants targeted their car and fled.
