At least six people were killed in different incidents of violence in the Sindh metropolis on Friday, police and sources said. A 25-year-old man named Anwar was shot dead near Khyber Chowk in Ittehad Town falling in the limits of Mochko police station.
Police said that unidentified armed men had shot Anwar multiple times, leaving him injured. He was rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries. Another man named Abdul Rehman was shot dead by armed men on a motorcycle in the Karimabad area in the limits of Azizabad police station. The body was shifted to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital for completion of medico-legal formalities.
Separately, a 34-year-old cable operator named Tariq was shot dead in Orangi Town. Officials of Orangi Town police station said that armed men riding motorcycle had shot Tariq, son of Badal. The body was brought to ASH for post-mortem examination. The body of a 32-year-old man, who was later identified as Shabir, was found from the Gauharabad Bridge falling in the limits Liaquatabad police station. Police said the body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy. The man lived in the Nazimabad area. Two more bodies of men, whose identities could not be confirmed till the filing of this report, were four from the Raxer Lane Bridge in the limits of Pak Colony police station.
Official said local people had first found the body and informed police about it. The body was later shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities and identification. Police said unknown attackers both men bore multiple gun shot wounds.
