According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 31% of Pakistanis say they travel to their home-town or village to celebrate Eid. A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked "Where do you normally celebrate Eid?" Responding to this, 18% say they travel to their village, 13% say they travel to some other city, whereas 67% celebrate Eid in the city they live in.
However, 2% did not give a view. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2,670 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during August 19, 2012 - August 25, 2012. Error margin is estimated to be approximately 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
