KARACHI: Pakistan Yarn Merchants Association (PYMA) chairman Saqib Naseem, while expressing deep concern over the 5-hour load-shedding in the yarn and cloth market, demanded an immediate end to the outages.

He said business in the cloth market starts at 12 noon and load shedding starts at 1 o’clock, which arrives after 3 hours at 4 pm, after which load shedding is done from 6 pm to 8 pm, due to which the business has ended.

He said during the load shedding, traders were forced to run generators, which has increased their business expenses to an unbearable extent. While traders are getting sick due to noise and smoke from generators, and customers were also shying away from coming to the market due to noise and smoke. Due to which the traders are facing serious financial losses.

Saqib Naseem further said that despite paying the huge electricity bills, the load shedding of electricity for 5hours was completely unfair to the businessmen of Karachi. He demanded to stop load shedding in the yarn and cloth markets and uninterrupted power supply should be ensured to promote business activities.
