Religious parties on Friday observed the protest day across the southern Punjab and burnt the US flag in Bahawalpur, Multan, Sahiwal, Rahimyar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Vehari. More than 100 activists of Jamaat-ud-Dawah organised a rally to condemn the sacrilegious movie and demanded public hanging of its producer Sam Bacile and pastor Terry Jones.
Addressing the participants the speakers said, deliberately mocking a religion or aiming to make derisive comments to hurt the feelings of its believers is a terrible thing to do and we would not tolerate this act. They alleged that Jewish lobby had financed for this desecrated movie. Jamaat Islam Multan also staged a demonstration to express its anger. More than 150 people including students of religious seminary gathered at Chowk Ghanta Ghar and they shouted slogans against the United States, Israel.
