Pakistan wants stable, democratic, peaceful Afghanistan: Khurram Dastagir
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence Engineer Khurram Dastagir Khan Wednesday said that Pakistan wanted a stable, democratic and peaceful Afghanistan.
"Peace and stability in Afghanistan was in the interest of Pakistan, "he said while talking to a news channel. Pakistan had played vital role in war against terrorism, he said.
There was no ungoverned spaces in Pakistan, he said.
While half of Afghanistan was a safe heaven for terrorists, he added.
To a question Khurram Dastagir said that Haqqani network was not existing in Pakistan.
The minister said Pakistan had wiped out terrorists and terrorism from its soil.
"No terrorist sanctuaries were existing in Pakistan," he added.
To another question, he said that Pakistan would provide all necessary support for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
