Local traders organised a big rally on Sunday to express their anger on an anti-Islam movie 'Innocence of Islam' and burnt the effigy of the film producer and pastor Terry Johnes.
More than 600 traders joined the traders rally and it was the biggest rally of the Multan city, said Gauhar Nafees SP (Investigation). Khawaja Muhammad Shafiq Chairman of Markazi Anjuman Tajiran claimed that more than 1000 traders participated in the rally to denounce an anti Islam movie, with some urging publicly hanging for the film producer and director.
The speakers Khawaja Shafiq, Khalid Mehmood Qureshi, Khawaja Muhammad Aslam and Muhammad Saleem Kanday Wala said that United States was plotting to divide the Muslims to grab their natural resources like gold, and petroleum. They stressed the need for breaking the diplomatic ties with Yankees because they are enemies of Islam and Muslims. Ahle-Hadith Youth Force, Anjuman Tajiran Tughlaq road, PML-N, Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazal-ur-Rehman group) and Youth League also organised protest demonstrations in the city on Sunday which were attended by about 100 activists each.
