German rider Sandro Cortese extended his lead in the Moto3 world championship standings after he rode to victory on his KTM bike in the San Marino race here on Sunday. The 22-year-old - who described the race as the most difficult of the season - came home ahead of Spaniard Luis Salom (Kalex KTM) while Italy's Romano Fenati (FTR Honda) took third.
Cortese holds a 46-point lead over nearest rival Maverick Vinales of Spain, who could only finish fifth in what was the 12th race of the season.
