After quitting coalition government, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) once again started its efforts for the "election alliance" with other political parties and groups, Business Recorder learnt on Monday. Before parting ways with PPP led-Sindh Government, PML-F was working for election alliance with National Peoples Party (NPP), Mehar group, Sheerazi group and others.
They were ready to announce this alliance soon after the Eid-ul-Fitr but Mehars joined the PPP. Sources told that Ali Gohar Khan Mehar had visited Saudia for performing of Umrah with his very close aide Syed Nasir Ali Shah, former District Nazim Sukkur. And on the return, he had to head the meeting of a committee constituted for the formation of electoral alliance.
But, before the meeting of said committee, Faryal Talpur visited Khangarh (Ghotki) and held meeting with Ali Gohar Khan Mehar and conveyed them for joining of PPP, sources said. In this connection, PML-F started again war footing efforts to announce the alliance as soon as possible and now, they would make alliance with NPP, Sheerazis, Ghous Bux Khan Mehar and PML-L, sources said.
The meeting of representatives of said parties and groups was held at residence of Imtiaz Shaikh Secretary General PML-F. All participants had decided that Pir Pagara, Chief of PML-F, would be head of this alliance while the name and by-laws of the alliance would be decided in next meeting, sources added. The next meeting would be held within next couple of days and it is likely that all parties would announce their alliance after the meeting during a press conference, sources concluded.
