The 12th ITCN Asia 2012 international exhibition on Tuesday began at Expo Centre, showcasing telecommunications gadgets, IT products and solutions, software/programs, office automation, latest personal computers and laptops, mobile phones, multimedia devices and digital items. Sindh Youth Affairs Minister Syed Faisal Ali Sabzwari, being the chief guest, inaugurated the fair at an impressive ceremony.
Secretary Sindh IT Department Muhammad Sualeh Ahmed Faruqui, DG IT Sindh Mohammad Yousuf, Director IT PTA Dr Khawar, President, ClickSat (Pvt) Ltd Jahangir Khan (former Squash Champion), FAO representative Dr Kevin Gallagher and President Ecommerce Gateway Dr Khursheed Nizam attended the event. The international fair attracted participants from over 15 countries, including Bangladesh, China, India, Ireland, Korea, Lebanon, Middle East, Nepal, Singapore, Sweden, the UK and US. Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan is organising the three-day fair.
At the exhibition ICT products/services, telecommunications equipment, systems, networking, IT solutions, software/programs, office automation, multimedia devices and digital products are being displayed. H.K. Shah; 3M Pakistan; INTEL, Transworld Enterprises and SuperNet are the chief participants at the fair, according to the organisers.
ICT summit held in collaboration with 12th ITCN Asia Conferences on the first day of the event, which titled 'empowering your business'. At the summit, an agriculture session also took place, which was sponsored by National ICT R&D Fund. As a keynote speaker, Director Projects and Administration of the Information Technology Board Khyber-Pakhunkhwa Usman Arbab apprised the participants about the IT and agricultural integration for sustainable economic development in his province.
Other speakers were FAO official Dr Kevin Gallagher, Senior Adviser on Programme Development, FAO in Pakistan Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Senior Research Manager, LIRNEasia, Sriganesh Lokanathan, Co-ordinator Knowledge Management, CABI - Central and West Asia, Mahrukh Siraj and Regional Sales Manager - Easypaisa, Telenor Pakistan, Tughral Turab Ali. Latter, the chief guest visited stalls and met with domestic and foreign exhibitors. The minister also inaugurated Sindh IT Department's pavilion at the fair.
