Helping Hands for Relief and Development (HHRD) has initiated its relief activities in flood-ravaged areas across the country under which the organisation will provide cooked food, clean drinking water and health facilities. Director HHRD Saleem Mansoori said this while addressing a meeting held here on Wednesday. All basic life necessities including edible goods are being provided in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Jackobabbad, Kashmore, Jaffarabad, Loralai and Qilla Saifullah, he added.
Mansoori said that millions of people living near the banks of River Indus have been affected by floods, to those relief goods including health and food would be provided. He also said that HHRD is striving hard to make these facilities easily available for women, old people, children and the disabled on most urgent basis. Cooked food is being provided to the deserving people, similarly health facilities are also being provided. Infectious diseases are also expected to spread due to contaminated water. So the provision of clean drinking water is also being ensured.-PR
