Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) has proposed to the FBR for fixing remunerations of Rs 10,000 per day in addition to travelling and boarding expenses to PRAL's Board of Directors for attending meetings at the FBR. Sources told Business Recorder here on Wednesday that the issue of fixation of remuneration for Board of Directors (BoD) and Board of Management(BoM) of PRAL -the software developer of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) - would be approved in the next meeting of the Board of Directors of PRAL.
It has been proposed to make payment of Rs 10,000 per day to the participants of BoD meeting; payment of Rs 7,500 per day to participants of Board of Management (BoM) meeting and payment of Travelling and Boarding expenses to participants of BoD and BoM meetings.
According to sources, the Board of Directors meeting of the PRAL is expected to approve creation of position of Chief Operating Officer, PRAL equivalent to the CEO PRAL pay scale. The Software Development, Automation, Operations and Networking Departments shall report to the Chief Operating Officer. It has been proposed to acquire services of an official of Customs Group by PRAL on deputation basis as Chief Operating Officer, PRAL. He will be entitled to the following payments from PRAL as payable to other PRAL employees:
Automobile motorization benefit; fuel equivalent to 340-litre single grade petrol; house rent amounting to Rs 73,333 per month; utility allowance Rs 18,333 per month and special project allowance of Rs 100,000. It has been further proposed that the Commercial Projects and Office Support Departments shall report to CEO PRAL. The next meeting of the PRAL would also approve the reconstitution of Board of Management PRAL: Chief Operating Officer, PRAL would be the Chairman, BoM; Chief Executive Officer, PRAL would be Member, BoM; Chief Management FBR; Member, BoM; General Manager (Automation); Member, BoM; General Manager (Finance); Member, BoM and Manager (S&A) would be the Secretary of the BoM PRAL.
The Board of Directors meeting of the PRAL would also approve the acquisition of services of FBR offices by PRAL as domain experts for development teams on payment of project allowance. These officers/officials shall, however, remain on pay roll of FBR, or even can continue their present assignments. The BPS-21 and BPS-20 officials would be entitled to the Project Allowance of Rs 50,000; BPS-19 and BPS-18; Rs 40,000 and BPS-17 officials would be entitled to Project Allowance of Rs 30,000.
