Though over 3,000 Australian infected sheep have been culled so far, the government is yet to take action against those responsible for importing sheep. The Australian exporting firm has come here to defend the health of 22,000 sheep exported to Pakistan after being rejected from Bahrain. The company's officials not only avoiding talking to media but also apparently not in a position to defend the much-heated issue.
The legal action against the importing company has reportedly been initiated by the government, no action has been taken against all those involved in the entire process of importing infected sheep. According to Commissioner Office Karachi, the government has also initiated test of all those local animals kept with the imported sheep. If found infected they would also be culled like the Australian sheep.
The sheep are also being culled in a scientific way to control the spread of the disease. Meanwhile, over 3000 Australian sheep have been recovered from a form house in Bin Qasim Town area where the importer of these animals was hiding them from the authorities concerned. During a raid, the Commissioner office of District East has recovered the sheep on Wednesday night.
