The Piaf-Founders Alliance on Wednesday made clean sweep by winning all the seven seats of LCCI Corporate Class for year 2012-11. Total 816 votes were polled out of 2,120 while eight votes were rejected due to technical reasons. Piaf-Founder Alliance got 570 panel votes while the Azad Progressive Group got 96 panel votes.
Piaf-Founders Alliance candidates Mian Tariq Rehman got 662 votes, Farooq Iftikhar 650, Tanvir Ahmad Sufi 642, Ibrar Ahmad 638, Mumshad Ali 638, Chaudhry Iftikhar Bashir 635, and Tasharraf Javed 609, while Azad Progressive Alliance candidates Bashir Ahmad Mughal got 160 votes, Khalid Usman got 153, Syed Salman Ali 151, Hafiz Muhammad Shahbaz 136, Muqaddas Aleem 136, Iftikhar Ahmad 129 and Ehsan Ullah got 110 votes. Mian Muzaffar Ali, Haroon Shafiq Chaudhry and Nasrullah Mughal were the Election Commission.
In the second phase, polling for eight seat of Associate Class would be held on September 20 (today). Muhammad Nawaz, Mian Shabbir Ahmad, Muhammad Manzoor Butt, Muhammad Imran Asghar, Raja Abdul Sattar, Kamran Butt, Abdul Wadood Alvi, Engineer M Waseem Yousuf, Waheed Ahmad Sheikh, Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Kashif Anwar, S M Tariq, Hasan Amjad, Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan, Mian Zahid Javed Ahmad, Mudassar Masood and Muhammad Akram Malik are in the run for eight seats of Associate Class while Musarrat Nawaz and Asia Saail Khan are candidates for one seat reserved for women.
The final results will be announced on September 29 in scheduled Annual General Meeting. Meanwhile, Piaf-Founders Alliance Chairman Mian Muhammad Ashraf and Chairman Steering Committee Mian Anjum Nisar thanked the voters for supporting Corporate Class candidates.
