National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has distributed 125152 foods packs among flood victims in different parts of the country which affected 11,56,507 people and claimed 262 lives besides 815 injured. An official of the Authority told APP here on Wednesday that each food pack contains 10 kg rice, one kg black tea, 20 kg flour and two kg sugar.
He informed that 3350 food packs were distributed in different areas of Khaber Pakhtunkwa including Nowshera, Pabbi, Tank and Peshawar. The authority has also provided 290 tents, 380 plastic bags sheets, 130 blankets and 50 kitchen sets to the victims of the province.
In Sindh, he said, 32570 food packs were handed over to the affectees in the areas of Ghotki, Jacobabad, Thatta, Kashmore, Shikarpur and Khairpur besides 15,000 tents and 29 de-watering pumps. NDMA has also provided 88770 ration packs, 45,000 bottles of mineral water, 36,000 bags of 20 kg rice and 37,000 bags of 20 kg flour in flood hit areas of Punjab including Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and Rahim Yar Khan. 7319 tents, 15000 blankets and 78 de-watering pumps were also given to affected people of these districts, he added.
In Balochistan so far 154 metric ton flour, 31.76 metric ton sugar, 642.26 metric ton rice, 13.87 metric ton cooking oil, three metric ton Lobbia, 3.9 metric ton dates, 346 kg tea, 29232 biscuits packs, 3350 water cans, 19.5 metric ton pulses, 855 kg salt and 1.8 metric ton milk powder were given to the people hit by the flood. In non food items the authority has distributed 4300 tents, 4600 blankets, 100 pairs shoes, 20 carpet rolls and 500 jerry canes and 105 cartons of first aid items in these areas.
