Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)'s leaders on Wednesday have strongly condemn the bomb blasts in Karachi and Peshawar, which claimed 18 lives and many injured. PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, President Javed Hashmi, Secretary General Dr Arif Alvi, and Information secretary Shafqat Mahmood said this brutal and callous act of terrorism targeted civilians, including women and children.
"The party calls for government action against this kind of barbarism, and warned that, if left unchecked, this menace can imperil the country. Until the society buries the culture of protecting and patronising the groups spreading hatred, we will not be able to end this kind of violence in Pakistan," they added.
According to them, PTI believes that such issues can only be solved through firm resolve and consultation among all stakeholders. There is a need to address weaknesses in the system of law enforcement. PTI will ensure that law and order is restored in the country and special attention is paid to creating harmony in the country. The state's capacity to manage policing and public prosecution in an effective way is a key issue. Political actors and the state are more interested in political mileage rather than curbing the killings.
