The government of Japan has extended a grant of 72,922 dollars (approximately Rs 6.5 million) to Health Oriented Preventive Education Foundation (HOPE), the project for expansion of health oriented preventive education formal school and Vocational Training Centre at Korangi in Karachi under the scheme of the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects.
The agreement was signed in Karachi by Masamichi Abe, Acting Consul-General of Japan and Dr Mubina Agboatwalla, HOPE Chairperson. Vowing to achieve its objective to provide low cost quality education to the children of Korangi area, suffering from poverty, the grant will be utilised for expansion of the second floor of HOPE school so that the school meets the rapid rise in demand of enrolment and accommodates more admissions.
The Japanese CG sincerely hopes that this project help provide adequate education to needy children and they can have better opportunity of employment in the future. The Japanese CG also wishes that this support from the people of Japan will strengthen the amicable relationship between Japan and Pakistan. At the signing ceremony, Acting Consul-General Masamichi Abe said that better implementation of this project would surely be a driving force to give hope to deprived families who could not afford expensive tuition.-PR
