The Supreme Court will announce its reserved judgement on dual nationality of parliamentarians' case today (Thursday). Reserving its judgement in the case on September 18, the Supreme Court observed that the federal cabinet had approved a proposed legislation in relation to dual nationality of parliamentarians. Naqvi used to file eight to ten petitions in the court in a week. According to him, his 40 petitions are pending in different courts in various matters.
According to a press release issued by the Supreme Court, "A three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and comprising two members Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja and .Justice Khilji Arif Hussain will announce its reserved order/judgement in Constitution Petition No 05/2012 and Criminal Original Petition Nos. 47, 54, 62 & 71/2012 and CMA Nos. 2382, 2487, 2492, 2876 & 3446/2012 (Syed Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi versus Federation of Pakistan thr. Secretary Law and others - Dual Nationality case) on September 20, 2012".
