Complete shutter down and wheel jam strike was observed on Friday in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in protest against anti-Islam movie. According to details, business life in the twin cities was virtually suspended owing to shutter down call given by the business community to protest the against movie.
All the markets, business centers including Super Market, Aabpara market, Jinnah Supper Market and other business centers along with similarly densely populated Tench Bhatta, Raja Bazaar, Cantt areas, Murree road, Commercial Market, Pindora, Chunghi, Sir Syed Chowk, besides various areas in the twin cities were remained closed. On the other hand, commuters of the twin cities had to face great hardships due to non-availability of public transports, as complete wheel jam strike was observed.
Similarity, all private and government educational institutions were remained closed in the twin cities, as the government declared a national holiday on Friday to observe Ishq-e- Rasool (PBUH) Day. Security was put on high alert by making extra deployments on entry and exit points, along with other sensitive areas of the cities to meet any eventuality. Meanwhile, strict security measures were taken to avoid any untoward incident in twin cities, as heavy contingent of police force were present on the occasion.
