UHS has established 20 test centres in about 12 cities of the province including Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Hassan Abdal, Gujrat and Gujranwala.
The test is also scheduled to be held at D.G. Khan but due to the floods in that area the centre has been changed and now the candidates of D.G. Khan Centre will appear at the Government Degree College for Boys, Muzaffargarh. The candidates appearing at entrance test will compete for 3,305 MBBS seats in 16 public sector medical colleges and 216 BDS seats in 03 public dental colleges of the province. Besides, there are 3,050 MBBS seats available in 28 private medical colleges and 715 BDS seats in 12 private dental colleges of Punjab.
The test will start at 09:00am on September 23. The candidates, however, must reach their respective centres at least one hour before the commencement of the test as all the centres would be sealed at 08:15am and nobody would be allowed to enter after that, a spokesman of the UHS said.
In Lahore, three centres have been set up that include Examination Halls of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Lawrence Road, Examination Halls of Punjab University, Wahdat Road and Government Comprehensive Girls High School, Wahdat Road. Around 10,500 candidates (3,000 male and 7,500 female) will take the test in the metropolis.
The spokesman said the test will comprise 220 multiple choice questions (MCQs), divided into four sections namely Physics (44 MCQs), Chemistry (58 MCQs), English (30 MCQs) and Biology (88 MCQs). Total duration of the test shall be two and a half hour. After the main test, the candidates shall be required to answer a separate test comprising questions related to aptitude and feedback. Extra 30 minutes shall be given to the candidates to answer this test which shall have no weight in the entrance test score.
