Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) Punjab took out a rally from Lahore Press Club to the Mall Road on Friday to mark the Yaum-e-Ishq-e-Rasool (PBUH). The provincial as well as Lahore city leadership led the rally, which attended by a large number of party workers and supporters.
The rally covered the distance peacefully and no untoward incident took place on the occasion. Prominent party leaders also spoke on the occasion to highlight the importance of the day. The party leadership resolved to lay down their lives for the honour and respect of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). However, they stressed the party workers to avoid destruction of public properties while following the path of peaceful rally. The party workers raised slogans against the US filmmakers and urged the party leadership to take up the issue at all international forums without any further loss of time. Earlier, the PPP Punjab leadership attended a conference at the Governor's House in connection with the Yaum-e-Ishq-e-Rasool (PBUH).
