Pakistan Muslim League-Q President Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and senior leader and Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Parvaiz Elahi have asked the United Nations and the West not to put Islamic world's patience to more test and pay immediate attention to the protests of the Muslims over blasphemy, the culprits should not only be given exemplary punishment for committing blasphemy but also effective legislation should be done on international level to prevent such heinous acts in future.
In a statement, they said that the Muslims are followers of the peace according to the tenets of their religion but they cannot tolerate any blasphemous act and disrespect in honour of the Holy Quran and their most beloved Holy Prophet (Peace Be Up on Him). They said that the governments of the Islamic countries should also adopt unanimous strategy in response to the voices and protests of their peoples.
They said that blasphemy and disrespect in honour of any religion, faith and their respectable personalities is not only worst extremism but also an open act of terrorism and when no action is taken against such heinous acts of blasphemy and discrimination is shown towards followers of a particular religion, then this gives rise to religious extremism.
