Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has invited every one to join him for the peace march to Waziristan against the drone attacks on October 7. He was addressing a press conference on Tuesday on the joining of former PML MNA Naeem Hussain Chatha and his son former MPA Abid Hussain Chatha along with his companions.
Other party leaders, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Shafqat Mahmood, Jahangir Tareen, Ahsan Rasheed, Inaam ullah Niazi, Naeem ul Haq, Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed, Azam Swati, Hussain Jahaania Gardezi, Mian Khalid, S. A. Hameed, Sajaad Hussain Randhawa, Ejaaz Sohal, Asif Virk, Shah Nawaz Saraa and Rai Aziz, were also present on the occasion.
Khan said the PTI would leave for Waziristan from Islamabad. He also said this march is not a circus of so-called lions but it takes the real courage to lead such a march to Waziristan. "Drone attacks are against the human rights but the ruling elites are just silent spectators. We will be guests of our on tribal people. The government is not giving visas to the foreign media and human rights organisations but if the government is against the drone attacks then it must give visas without any delay. Pakistan is spending Rs 90 billion every month on the war against terrorism," he added.
While welcoming the newcomers in the party he said party elections are a difficult task but they are committed to do that with 10 million members already on board. He also said PTI is a democratic party, not a dynastic party, which is also going to conduct elections within the party to give the members of the party the right to choose their leadership. "Pakistan has suffered the most in the war against terrorism and as a result extremist and terrorism are increasing instead of decreasing, which is claiming precious lives of our soldiers," he added.
Answering to a question, he said if the government and parliament and all other in the country are against the drone attacks then why would anyone oppose the peace march? He said no party in Pakistan could dare to hold a public meeting in Quetta or go to Waziristan; it is only the PTI taking bold decisions. He also said PTI will clean sweep in the upcoming elections and will implement its policies following the national sentiment. "PPP and PML-N have an understanding. Both have promoted corruption and bad governance, and failed to address the issues of a common man," he added.
Naeem Hussain Chattha, retired as a Senator in March 2012, highlighted the challenges faced by the country and said that PTI had unveiled a convincing agenda to cure the country from the ills that threatened its progress in all facets of life.
