ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will visit the United States from April 10 to 16 to attend the upcoming annual spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, sources said.

Secretary Finance Hamid Yaqoob and Governor State Bank of Pakistan Jameel Ahmed will also accompany the finance minister along with a high-powered delegation, sources at the Ministry of Finance said.

The delegation will hold a separate meeting with the IMF officials during the visit, sources said. The finance minister will inform the international lending institutions about reforms introduced by the government.

Technical-level talks with IMF are over: Ishaq Dar

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, known as Breton Wood Institutions, will also be briefed about the economic discipline and progress in efforts for funding from the friendly countries. The IMF is seeking verifications from Pakistan’s friendly countries, such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, additional assistance of $6 billion to the country.

The coalition government has already said that it has fulfilled all toughest requirements set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for release of 1.1bn dollar tranche.

Why? What does he have to offer? Expect him to come back and whine that Pakistan is being treated unfairly by IMF. Meanwhile he wants you to forget he unfairly got his job, and that his only qualification is that his son married Nawaz Sharif’s daughter.

"The IMF is seeking verifications from Pakistan’s friendly countries, such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar" Why is the ummah so unwilling to help? Anyway on the same note, Pakistan is also unwilling to help Uyghurs. So why would Ummah care about Kashmir? UAE is now Israel's new brother in arms.

Let this liar go and then ban his entry back to Pak. In any case, by then matters will have worsened and this UK national will decamp to London for another 5 years or so citing medical help required for his low IQ count.

For what, nothing changes unless lenders assurances are there. Don't waste time, best is to return to London and enjoy your life. Let some one else take reins for few months, might work.
