Haji Fazal Kadir Khan Sherani, President of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Zakarya Usman, Chairman of FPCCI Committee on Co-ordination with Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) have urged the Chairman FBR to extend the deadline of filing of income tax return by one month.
They argued that trade and industrial activities remained disturbed in the month of September due to various reasons including disturbances for frequent strikes, fire, devastating, rains and flood etc. They elaborated that the incident that took place on Youm-e-Aashiq-e-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him) dated September 21, 2012 affected the entire business community and their activities. In view of the circumstances prevailed for the last many days the FBR may extend the last date for filing of income tax return from September 30th to October 30th, 2012.-PR
