England's women cricket team beat Pakistan women team by 43 runs in a Group-A match of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2012 in Sri Lanka. Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and invited England to bat first, which posted 133-6 with openers Laura Marsh and Charlotte Edwards forming a partnership of 102 runs in 13.1 overs, reported a private news channel.
Marsh smashed 54 runs off 41 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes. She was declared the player of the match. Next hitter was skipper Edwards who faced 43 balls for her 45 including five boundaries, setting Pakistan a target of 134 runs. Pakistan team, chasing the target, were bowled out for 90 runs with left-arm spinner Holly Colvin claiming 4 for 9, her best bowling figure in T20s. Javeria Khan was the top scorer from Pakistan with 23 runs.
