RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Saturday said the armed forces would not tolerate any further attempt of violating the sanctity and security of its installations or vandalism and resolved to bring to justice all the planners, abettors, instigators and executors of vandalism on the ‘black day’ of 9th May.

The Army Chief visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release said. The COAS was given a detailed briefing on the prevailing security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.

He appreciated the professional competence, performance, and achievements of Law Enforcement Agencies in the ongoing fight against terrorism.

‘I’ll not de-notify army chief if re-elected,’ says IK

The Army Chief also addressed the officers of the Corps and emphasized on the evolving threats to national security.

He said, “We shall continue with our endeavors of peace and stability and there will be no room for spoilers of the process”.

The Army Chief also sensitized about challenges of information warfare and efforts to create misperceptions. He highlighted that a concerted effort was being made maliciously by inimical elements to target the armed forces. He pledged that such nefarious attempts would be foiled through the support of the people of Pakistan. Earlier on arrival, the COAS was received by Corps Commander Peshawar.

It is extremely heart breaking to get to know about vandalism of different landmarks in Lahore and Peshawar cantonments and relevant vandalism. Perpetrators must be brought to justice and their homes must be burnt to ashes. I wonder whether Army should have blockaded the Cantt at the moment of IK's arrest. PTI will always be remembered as the most intolerant, abusive, aggressive, brain-freeze peoples' party.

And you should never forget this day! It’s the day when people of Pakistan told you that we are against the bloody elite generals, their crooks in the gov and the injustice you all are doing. This is the day you saw a glimpse of the wrath of Pakistanis! Don’t dare us again! We will consume you! Get out of the army and my country! You are a traitor

You coward! Hiding behind the 6th largest army of the world and attacking one individual. Just this fact shows us a lot about you! Just come out in public without your guards we will show you how much love and respect we have for you! Bloody coward! Traitor!

Time for introspection for the institution! Why did it was let to happen! How leadership will show some wisdom by grounding their egos and personal vendetta in favor of national unity and sovereignty!

"He said, “We shall continue with our endeavors of peace and stability and there will be no room for spoilers of the process”. " The seriousness of situation demands some wisdom, no egos and personal gains at cost of national unity! Time to learn lessons from the debacle of 1971! Let people decide! Hold elections to stabilize county! Failure to do so will increase instability!

May 12, 2007 was a mayhem too in Karachi with over 100 people killed to make a political point, no one was brought to justice to date. The list of mayhems are long and deliberately forgotten in the name of reconciliation. It's too early to jump to conclusions when an inquiry is needed to expose the script writers and motive.

Pakistani people love their army, but they will not allow few compromised generals to hijack the country by defying the constitution. How generals can fight the enemies of Pakistan by turning against 220 million Pakistanis. The generals ought to obey the constitution and let people decide their future! Enough damage has been caused by the general’s direct and indirect rule during past 75 years.

May 12, Dec 27, and there are many other dates on which much more was destroyed. A lot of the anger of normal public is due to the fact that the army is supporting a bunch of crooks in ruling the country. The corruption has also seeped into the army and that is why our previous COAS are outside Pakistan and discussions around their wealth are frowned upon. The person who blew the whistle on Bajwa's wealth was dealt with but what about questioning where he got the wealth from?

COAS is the leader and the symbol of unity within the army. You cannot single him out and expect sane minds to believe that this is not targeting the institute. It is the person who makes personal attacks on heads of state institutions, who is the biggest source of unrest and political turmoil in Pakistan. He had given us a glimpse of the civil war he has planned and has the will to start it. Army should stand united and fix up these goons.

The question is why is the army supporting people like the Sharifs (proved corruption cases following the Panama leaks) and Zardari (famous Mr. 10%). If these people are so dedicated to the nation, tell them to sell their overseas assets and bring the money back.

Right now, India is going to take advantage of the stupidity of Pakistan leaders, and will milk everything for its worth. Just like it did with the liberation war of Bangladesh, with Kargil 1999, with 26/11. That is what a competent enemy does. A competent enemy does not wait for the other party to become strong before attacking, but making use of the situation when the other party is weak. You should not be surprised if Jaishanker is going around the world/UN right now casting Pakistan as an unstable nation, that has no locus standi on Kashmir. The world will surely believe him. BZB may have won the hearts of Pakistannis, but Pakistan;s stupidity makes Jaishanker wins the heart of world leaders where it matters. Again this is what a competent enemy does. This is what Pakistan should also do. But it is not a competent enemy.
