Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend the inauguration ceremony of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, Turkiye on Saturday.
The visit will be a reaffirmation of the deep rooted fraternal ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, as per Radio Pakistan.
PM Shehbaz will convey felicitations on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan to Erdogan on his re-election as president.
The premier will also extend an invitation to President Erdogan to attend the 7th meeting of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Islamabad.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared victory in a historic runoff vote that posed the biggest challenge to his 20 years of transformative but divisive rule.
The 69-year-old leader overcame Turkey’s biggest economic crisis in generations and the most powerful opposition alliance to ever face his Islamic-rooted party to take an unassailable lead.
Following his re-election, PM Shehbaz said Erdogan was “a pillar of strength for the oppressed Muslims and a fervent voice for their inalienable rights.
“His presidential victory & that of AKP in parliamentary elections is significant in so many ways, reflecting the trust & confidence of the Turkish people in his dynamic leadership,” the PM tweeted.
