ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to Turkiye to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Erdogan in Ankara on Saturday (June 3).
According to Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the prime minister will be visiting Turkiye at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
She said that the prime minister’s visit will be a reaffirmation of the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Pakistan and Türkiye.
She said that the prime minister will convey warm felicitations on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan to President Erdogan on his re-election as President of Türkiye on 28 May 2023.
The prime minister will also extend an invitation to President Erdogan to attend the 7th Meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) in Islamabad, with a view to providing further momentum to the diverse and multifaceted strategic partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye. “Pakistan-Türkiye relationship is deeply embedded in commonalities of faith, culture and history, and strengthened by mutual trust and convergence of views on regional and global matters,” she said, adding that frequent leadership level exchanges are a defining feature of the eternal bonds of friendship between the two countries.
