HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares extended gains at the open Monday following a positive lead from Wall Street, with traders awaiting a key US Federal Reserve policy decision later in the week.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.26 percent, or 51.04 points, to 19,440.99.
The Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.19 percent, or 6.10 points, to 3,225.30, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange also dipped 0.19 percent, or 3.78 points, to 2,002.67.
