Jamaat-e-Islami on Sunday supported Baloch dissident leader Akhtar Mengal's six-point formula to bring peace in the province and said the whole nation supported the Balochistan National Party leader's genuine demands to redress grievances of the Baloch people. Ameer JI Punjab Dr Waseem Akhtar said here on Sunday that providing people constitutional rights was extremely essential.
"Missing persons must be recovered, murderers of late Nawab Akbar Bugti be tried, intervention of secret agencies and targeted killings be stopped, death squads be terminated and all kinds of military action be stopped."
Dr Akhtar said the situation in Balochistan was dangerous and, therefore, political leaders and army commanders should take wise decisions and a high level commission be set up to resolve issues relating to Balochistan.
Dr Waseem Akhtar opined that because of wrong policies of the rulers, Pakistan has become a problematic state. Everyday, a new crisis was being created, lawlessness and corruption were at maximum and PPP and its allies had miserably failed to provide any relief to the masses.
He said PML-N was equally responsible for the problems of the country. It is only JI which can provide spotless, sincere and patriotic leadership to the country. Islamic forces are rising in the world. He demanded that "establishment's" role in the political affairs be completely scrapped.
