KARACHI: The Pakistan Business Forum (PBF) urged Pakistan’s missions abroad to host mango festivals to showcase the variety and richness of Pakistani mangoes and to emulate trade diplomacy through mangoes.
PBF Spokesperson, Zainab Jatoi said Pakistan is celebrating its 75th anniversary of independence and in this important moment government may accelerated its efforts to boost exports through “Mango Diplomacy”.
“75th Pay Kuch Khaas,” (Something Special at 75) the event must focused on projecting Pakistan’s culinary and agrarian richness in all foreign missions.
“Jatoi further said our focus was to promote Pakistan’s soft image across the world in order to tap more avenues and in this regard mango diplomacy is second to none”.
As South Asian countries like India, Pakistan and Bangladesh have been using this delicious fruit as a way to smoothen political relations by taking part in “mango diplomacy.”
For the uninitiated, mango diplomacy is a term coined for when the famed fruits are used as a gesture of friendship and goodwill and presented as gifts by national or political leaders to each other.
