A delegation of Pakistan Muslim League (Q), led by its president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, visited the Nine Zero on Sunday and held meeting with the members of MQM's Co-ordination Committee. Deputy Convenor of the Co-ordination Committee Nasreen Jalil led the MQM's side.
The overall political, social, and economic condition of the country came under discussion during the meeting. Views were also exchanged on the brewing crisis in Balochistan, the law and order situation prevailing in the country and strategies for the upcoming general elections.
Talking to the media persons Nasreen Jalil said that there has always been a link of mutual co-operation between MQM leader Altaf Hussain and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. She added that Chaudhry Shujaat was not a new face for the MQM. She said that relations between the PML (Q) and the MQM would continue grow in future as well. She said that there was a consensus between the two parties on several issues.
Chaudhry Shujaat said that the Balochistan issue could not be resolved by a single party. He said that he had formed a committee for resolving the Balochistan issue when he was the prime minister. The committee had representation from all stakeholders and political parties. The committee had submitted a detailed report on the issue but it could not be implemented. He said that the situation in Balochistan could improve even today if the recommendations of the report were implemented.
Chaudhry Shujaat thanked Altaf Hussain for a warm welcome at Nine Zero.
Speaking on the occasion Secretary General of the PML (Q) Mushahid Hussain said that his party had particular relations with the MQM. In response to a question Mushahid Hussain said that the parliamentary party of the PML (Q) would deliberate upon the local government system and arrive at a decision.
