I would like to commence my message by sending my best wishes and a warm message of admiration to the people of China on its 63rd National Day anniversary. The longstanding ties between the two countries have been mutually supportive. A close identity of views and mutual interests remain the hallmark of bilateral ties.
China is remarkable country. Since the founding of the Peoples Republic 63 years ago, China has made remarkable progress towards the modernisation, while always keeping in hindsight its historic trends and reality, and today, marked as an important force for world peace and prosperity. From challenging times, one must applaud them, as they in a very short span of time, have achieved the status of becoming the 2nd largest economy of the world, and they have only been able to achieve it, because they focused on strengthening their own people and economy.
The Chinese companies plan to invest a sum of $15 billion, over the next 4 years in Pakistan's energy, infrastructure, telecom, mineral exploration and banking sectors. Together, Pakistan and China relations cover a wide canvas of growing co-operation in strategic, security, economic, education, culture, science and technology fields.
This year, we got the opportunity to participate in the Inter Textile Fair in Shanghai, and it was evident that there is massive potential in the Textile sector, and Pakistan being ideal, given its current various infrastructures, can be most competitive. We must explore more opportunities in this area and I believe through the platform of the Pak-China Club, we will be able to achieve such goals.
Modern China, has been able to create major changes by making itself a stronger and wealthier country, this has further created an important position for China in the constructive role of creating and maintaining world peace. This achievement could only have been accomplished by following a "one point agenda", to focus on economy, well being of the people and to try and resolve their outstanding disputes with other countries, through peaceful negotiation. With this status and mind set we can see the achievements, such as becoming a member of the UN Security Council and getting back Hong Kong.
China is also a role model for our country and if we want to prosper like China, we must follow its footsteps and concentrate for the well being of the people of Pakistan, by providing them jobs and education through economic growth, because in the 21st century, the scenario has changed and the only the economically strong countries have the power, say and value, all over the world.
Finally I wish the very best for the Chinese people, and thank them, for all they are doing.
May the China-Pakistan friendship continue for many generations to come.
