LAHORE: Terming the economic stability vital to the country’s development, Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman said on Tuesday that the incumbent government is utilizing all its resources to boost and revive the economy of the country.
While addressing the first ‘Achievement Award Ceremony’ of Rahim Yar Khan Chamber of Commerce and Industry here at Governor House today, the governor said the government has increased the pace of work on CPEC projects, adding that CPEC project is creating employment opportunities for the local population.
He said the people associated with the commerce and industry is playing an important role in the economic development of the country. He said the federal government has given relief to all sections of the society including the business community in the recent budget.
He said that promotion of technical and professional education is very important for the development of the country.
The governor further said that as chancellor he has formed a consortium to strengthen the links between academia and industry in universities. Provincial Minister of Industries and Commerce SM Tanveer said on the occasion said that holding the first achievement award of Rahim Yar Khan Chamber is a good initiative for the entrepreneurs. He said that the role of business community in the economic development of the country is very important.
President Rahim Yar Khan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Muhammad Iqbal Hafeez said that we have gathered here to appreciate the services of those entrepreneurs who have played a significant role in the country’s economy in various sectors.
The governor distributed awards to the owners of the seed companies in recognition of their outstanding contribution in the entire Punjab province.
