A Pakistan Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (PAJCCI's) trade delegation, representing Pakistan's business community, will leave here for Afghanistan on October 7 on a five-day visit. PAJCCI Vice-President Engr Daroo Khan Achakzai told Business Recorder here on Monday that the delegation would be led by M Zubair Motiwala, PAJCCI President.
During its stay in Afghanistan, the delegation will hold high level meetings with members of business community and senior Afghan officials on bringing about an improvement in the Afghan Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement-2010. Delegation's visit would significantly facilitate business links across the border and re-affirm confidence among their counterparts in Afghanistan besides indulging in networking activity with the businessmen across Afghanistan.
Daroo Khan said that during a very short span of time PAJCCI had delivered extensively and the things had started moving in right direction. In July a meeting was held with Secretary, Ministry of Commerce where objectives of PAJCCI and problems faced by business community across border were explained.
Recently stakeholders' feedback meeting on APTTA -2010 was organised at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which was followed by a visit of PAJCCI's directors to Torkham and Wagah borders to discuss issues relating to Afghan transit trade. He said that observations of PAJCCI's Pakistan and Afghanistan chapters, on how best to remove impediments in the way of smooth transit trade would be discussed to finalise a joint draft for considerations of both governments. Stakeholders in Pakistan as well as Afghanistan are keen to develop trade for the greater good of the people in both the countries, Daroo Khan said. The delegation would return to Pakistan on October 11.
