KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 173,296 tonnes of cargo comprising 119,267 tonnes of import cargo and 54,029 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours.
The total import cargo of 119,267 comprised of 41,589 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 3,687 tonnes of Canola, 2,491 tonnes of Chickpeas & 71,500 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 54,029 comprised of 28,721 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 9,808 tonnes of Cements & 15,500 tonnes of Clinkers.
-Nearly, 5748 containers comprising of 3385 containers import and 2363 containers export were handled on Wednesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 607 of 20’s and 1115 of 40’s loaded while 04 of 20’s and 272 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 615 of 20’s and 465 of 40’s loaded containers while 250 of 20’s and 284 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.
Around, 04 ships namely, Navios Lapis, Independent Spirit, Devashree and Wan Hai 515 arrived at Karachi Port Trust.
Approximately, 04 ships namely, Ever Utile, Chemroad Sirius, GH Foehn and X-Press Antares have sailed at Karachi Port.
PORT QASIM
A total of 11 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them two ships, Hafnia Turquoise and Prabhu Parvati sailed out to sea on 26th July, while five more ships, Ellora, Maersk Kensington, MSC Denisse, Lana and Nord Agano are expected to sail on afternoon same day.
Cargo through put of 223,394tonnes, comprising 196,194 tones imports Cargo and 27,200 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 5,990 Containers (4,390 TEUs Imports and 1,600 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are eleven ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them four ships, BW Kobe, Asia Inspire, Flagship Privet and Southern Quokka carrying Canola, Palm oil, Mogas and Chemicals are expected to take berths at FAP, LCT, FOTCO and EVTL respectively on 26th July, while four more ships, EM Astoria, CMA CGM Butterfly, Navios Lapis and MSC Tia-II carrying containers are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday, 27th July, 2023.
