FCCI, R&D dept discuss importance of renewable energy, electric vehicles
FAISALABAD: A meeting of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) Standing Committee on CPEC and R&D department was held on August 5, 2023, in the R&D department at the FCCI. The meeting was headed by Engineer Ahmad Hassan, Chairman of R&D department and of the standing committee.
The meeting discussed the importance of renewable energy and electric vehicles in Pakistan. Engineer Hassan highlighted that Pakistan produces only 5% of its energy mix from renewable resources, which is far below the world average. He said that Pakistan must transition to renewable energy sources, such as solar, in order to meet its growing energy needs and reduce its reliance on imported oil.
Engineer Hassan also spoke about the importance of electric vehicles. He said that electric vehicles are the future of transportation and that Pakistan must adopt this technology in order to reduce its carbon emissions and improve air quality. He pointed out that electric vehicles are also more cost-effective to operate than gasoline-powered vehicles.
The meeting was attended by Dr Muhammad Arif, Engineer Asim, PhD and Research Associates Muhammad Ali Hassan and Azhar. All of the participants agreed with Engineer Hassan's assessment of the importance of renewable energy and electric vehicles. They said that Pakistan must take immediate steps to transition to these technologies in order to meet its economic and environmental goals.
The meeting concluded with a call for the government to provide incentives for the use of renewable energy and electric vehicles. The participants said that these incentives would help to accelerate the adoption of these technologies in Pakistan.
The meeting was a productive one and it generated a lot of discussion about the future of energy and transportation in Pakistan. The participants agreed that renewable energy and electric vehicles are essential for the country's economic and environmental future. They called on the government to provide incentives for the use of these technologies in order to accelerate their adoption in Pakistan.
