HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks extended the previous day’s gains at the open Friday, tracking a rally on Wall Street, as investors await the release of key Chinese economic data.
The Hang Seng Index gained 0.59 percent, or 106.09 points, to 18,154.01.
Hong Kong stocks tumble at open
The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.23 percent, or 7.04 points, to 3,133.59, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange added 0.17 percent, or 3.27 points, to 1,920.29.
