PharmEvo has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and has planned to develop "Wifi Zones" across Pakistan in public and private hospitals to provide uninterrupted internet facility to healthcare professionals.
Addressing a signing ceremony at a local hotel on Friday Chief Operating Officer PharmEvo Syed Jamshed Ahmed said that keeping in view the continuing advances in information and communications technology, the applications of computers in medicine have increased rapidly, and have acquired the potential to revolutionise healthcare.
He said that the marketing team of PharmEvo has come up with another innovative and cause oriented marketing campaign by the name of "N.I.S.E Campaign" (NICE initiative in Spreading E-Health)", he informed. Jamsahed noted that under the umbrella of this campaign PharmEvo has planned to develop "Wifi Zones" across Pakistan in public and private hospitals to provide uninterrupted internet facility to healthcare professionals.
"Through this they can access telemedicine as well as advances in health screening and assessment, computer-based training and education in different fields of medicine, and information available on database search sites," he added. He said that Pharmevo understood its responsibility to protect the environment for our present and our future generations. "We feel privileged to be viewed as a role model and pioneers of cause-oriented marketing in Pakistan Pharmaceutical industry."
He said that the project would also enable healthcare professionals to communicate and exchange invaluable expertise with each other. Jamshed also thanked Executive Vice President of PTCL and his team for ensuring high quality Internet service for our "Masihas (Doctors)".
In his address, Executive Vice President of PTCL Zaman Gulzar said that PTCL is Pakistan's largest and most reliable telecom operator providing all telecom services from basic voice telephony to data, internet, video conferencing, and carrier services to consumers as well as businesses all over the country. He said that PTCL was a market leader for wireless Broadband services in Pakistan. "We provide a modern and most reliable wireless broadband solution based on state of the art "CDMA Network" based on EVDO technology. Its industry leading architecture provides greater system capacities and data rates with a peak of 3.1 Mbps (EVO Rev-A). It has become our flagship product with its plug-n-play feature and network coverage," Gulzar informed.
He said that the recent launch of EVO Nitro was thrilling users with speeds of up to 9.3 Mbps. "PTCL is the first operator in the region to offer this high speed wireless service and the only operator in Pakistan to offer true 3G internet service across major cities of Pakistan", he added. Other officials of PharmEvo and PTCL were also present on this occasion.
