ISLAMABAD: Competition Law has been made an integral part of the Directors’ Training Programs (DTPs) that will be conducted henceforth under the auspicious of ICAP.
As part of Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP)’s advocacy strategy, a module on Competition Law has been included into ICAP’s DTPs to enhance the proficiency of corporate leaderson provisions of Competition Act, 2010.The module will be covered through two comprehensive sessions.
The module will encompass the requirements of the law with regards to fair trade, prohibitive agreements and avoiding deceptive marketing practices. The module will also cover the process for seeking approval of mergers & acquisitions and for seeking exemptions.
These sessions are expected to enlighten participants of DTP on the importance of having free competition in all spheres of commercial and economic activities and protect consumers from any anti-competitive behaviors. With better understanding of the Competition Law, it is expected that corporate leaders will effectively mitigate any risks of violating Competition law and will also take-up with Regulator (CCP) in case of any violation of competition law that impacts the business interest of their undertaking.
This collaboration underlines the joint commitment CCP and ICAP have towards ethical business practices, promoting culture of regulatory compliance through awareness and upholding core principles of conducive and fair competitive work environment across Pakistan.
