LAHORE: Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman has said that return of political leader like Nawaz Sharif is a ray of hope and augurs well for the country’s future.
He said this while talking to a delegation of overseas Pakistanis led by Chief Coordinator Muslim League (N) International Affairs Amjad Ali Malik and President Muslim League (N) Holland Chaudhry Parvez Sandhila, here at Governor House on Monday.
In the meeting, issues of mutual interest including the current political situation in the country and the problems faced by overseas Pakistanis were discussed.
Speaking on this occasion, the governor said that Nawaz Sharif in his speech put aside the injustices and excesses committed against him and other leaders of the Muslim League in the past and have given a road map for the country’s development. He expressed the hope that Pakistan would be put back on the path to development very soon.
The governor further said that overseas Pakistanis are playing an important role in the country’s economy by sending significant foreign exchange. “Overseas Pakistanis always generously helped their compatriots in difficult times,” he said.
Amjad Ali Malik said that the return of a sincere, experienced and humble leader like Nawaz Sharif is a good omen for the country. He said that Nawaz Sharif would once again steer the country out of crises and put it on the road to progress and prosperity.
The delegation members apprised the governor about the problems of Pakistanis living abroad and gave various suggestions.
