ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday accused the “state institutions” of legitimising the menace of corruption and giving its perpetrators protocol at the cost of the taxpayers’ money.
PTI secretary information Raoof Hasan said that the project “making of a crime land” has been duly accomplished as the nation awaits the coronation of the ‘established gang of criminals’ to restart their spree of loot and plunder of the country.
“The pride and alacrity with which the state and its institutions are legitimising corruption and honourably exonerating its perpetrators with protocol marks a new low in the political history of Pakistan,” he alleged.
However, he said the manner in which ‘fake, frivolous and fraudulent’ cases against PTI Chairman Imran Khan are being carried out speaks volumes of ‘criminal conspiracy’ of punishing him irrespective of the merit or otherwise of the cases.
“It’ll, therefore, not be inappropriate to conclude that, in the state of Pakistan, not only crime is not punishable any longer; it is also eulogised and its perpetrators rewarded by hoisting its perpetrators in the highest seats of power,” he lamented.
