Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Barrister Masood Kausar has strongly condemned the firing at the young student and social worker Malala Yousufzai and her colleagues in Swat on Tuesday and wished their early recovery. In a press statement here, the Governor said the elements involved in that heinous crime would be nabbed shortly and brought to the court of law.
Expressing his deep sympathies with the affected families, the Governor said "the tragic incident has shocked us all and they should not consider themselves alone in the hour of test." He has also thanked Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf for his personal efforts in providing helicopter for shifted the injured student to Peshawar from Swat.
Malala Yusufzai was the Pakistani girl nominated for prestigious award of International Children's Peace Prize by International Children's Advocacy group Kids Rights Foundation. The government of Pakistan in recognition of her services for restoration of peace and her courage awarded National Peace Award on her and then Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani conferred the award on her.
Meanwhile, ANP Chief Asfandyar Wali Khan and provincial president Senator Afrsiab Khan Khattak have strongly condemned firing on a van of private school and have expressed grief and sorrow over the injuring of three girls including the laureate of Tamgha-e-Shujaat, Malala Yusufzai in the incident. In their joint condemnation, the ANP leadership said Malala Yusufzai has rendered matchless services for restoration of peace in Swat and in the recognition of her services the government of Pakistan had conferred Tamgha-e-Shujaat on her. They said people could not be demoralised through nefarious activities.
They said those spreading anarchy and chaos in the country were the enemies of Pakistan and they had no relations with any ideology or religion, adding that like past nefarious designs for disrupting peace in the country would be foiled in future too. They appealed the people to remain calm and never quit patience and extend support to the government in the elimination of these enemies of humanity. The ANP leadership also prayed for the recovery of injured girls.
